REMEMBER: It is always wise to ask at the restaurant about Gluten Free items or ingredients and/or to call ahead and speak with the chef. This list was compiled by group members based on their experiences. NO ONE can assure you of a safe meal. Please use your own judgement. Links go to the most current allergen information on the company's site. Updated 01/2012.
Chick-fil-A: chargrilled chicken and most sides and dressings are GF,ask for nutritional info. Kids meals now have GF grilled nuggets.
Chipotle: except for the flour tortilla, all items are GF. Let server know to change gloves and wash work area first to avoid cross contamination.
Christo's: all locations have a GF menu.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries: everything but the buns is GF, tell them you can't have wheat and they will change their gloves before preparing your meal. Ask for a burger on a lettuce leaf.
Green Leaf: many dishes are GF, but not the sauces, please check with the owner.
Heisei: sashimi and sushi (no tempura, fake crab, eel, fish roe, or kampyo) ]are mostly GF, salad dressing is not GF; bring your own soy sauce. Almost all other sauces and dishes have gluten.
Kokoro: Depends on Tony's mood. Our suggestion: get there right when they open, or just have sushi (no tempura, fake crab,
eel, tamago (egg),fish roe or kampyo) or sashimi and bring your own soy sauce.
La Scala: GF pasta can be substituted for most pasta dishes.
Moe's: All chips and wraps and southwestern chili have gluten,everything else is GF; bring your own chips or tortillas and order burritos in a bowl. Let server know to change gloves and wash work area first to avoid cross contamination.
Monical's: All locations have GF pizza.
Nine Irish Brothers: most of the salads, mussel appetizer (minus
bread), prime rib (no chips, no mashed potatoes), salmon.
Outback Steak House, Olive Garden and O'Charlie's have a GF menu, ask your server.
Panera: locations have a binder where you can check the
ingredients of soups and salads. Ask your server.
Parthenon: many items are GF, ask your server.
Penn Station East Coast Subs: fries are GF, check with server.
Pizza Hut: West Lafayette location, ask for Matt (one of the
managers), he can prepare a crustless pizza for you.
Puccini's Smiling Teeth: They offer gluten free pizza and pasta ($1 more per order for pasta).
Ross-Ade Stadium has gluten free options in the pavillions and on the concourse (including hot dogs and nachos).
Scotty's Brewhouse: Has a new gluten free menu and serves GF beer (New Grist). Spacibo European Market: ask owner, she also has celiac and can let you know what is safe.
Wendy's: chili and baked potatoes with some toppings, hamburger patty, grilled chicken, most salads and dressings (no croutons), and chocolate and vanilla Frostys are GF. Allergen info is usually posted along with the nutritional info on posters at each restaurant and on their web site.
Most full service restaurants will accommodate a GF request (e.g., Bistro 501, Mountain Jacks).
Most items in Indian restaurants are GF. Items with gluten include naan (and all breads), gulub jamun (sweet milk balls dessert), and some breaded items (most breaded items use chickpea flour). Please check with your server. Ask if they cook the chicken in the same tandoori oven as the bread.
Most items in Thai restaurants are GF, since most thai dishes do not use soy sauce. At Basil Thai /Thai Essence are aware of celiac and will let you know which dishes are safe. Please check with your server, since some Thai restaurants do use soy sauce in some noodle dishes and soups.

Sunspot - Sagamore Parkway, West Lafayette
Payless - has a GF section, dry goods and frozen.
Wal-Mart - WL location has a small GF section and GF pasta near the regular pasta. They clearly label their house brand (Good Sense) with allergens.
Beer - WL Payless and WalMart sell Redbridge, Village Bottle Shop on HWY 52 in WL has several more varieties.
